The Structure of Step By Step Academy’s
Treatment Teams
Each child is placed on a treatment team of approximately 8-11 Behavior Technicians. Behavior Technicians are the individuals specially trained in applying ABA principles and procedures and implementing a child’s treatment plan. They are the individuals your child will be working with day in and day out.
Each treatment team consists of the group of Behavior Technicians that your child will be working with, and a Clinical Assistant who is responsible for the daily supervision and application of the treatment implementation for each child and each Behavior Technician. They literally learn as much as possible about your child and drive any changes or recommendations to the implementation of treatment or goals on a continuous basis. The Program Supervisor is your primary contact for all treatment questions and needs. They are skilled in training and supervising the 1:1 Behavior Technicians, working with the child 1:1 to test new skills and identify interventions if a child is having difficulty making progress on any particular goal, and identifying behavior support needs for each of the children on their caseload.
Finally, there is a Program Director for each building. Their job is to support the Program Supervisors in their responsibilities, write each child’s annual treatment plan in conjunction with the Clinic Director and Executive Director, and be another communication partner with the parents for bigger picture needs like medication, special diets and other specific needs.
